To close them push the wire into the hole in the back.
These earrings are made of brass, which is actually an alloy of copper and zinc, obviously nickel free, which guarantees they won't give you any allergy.
They tend to get naturally mat, but if you like them shiny you can polish them with the silver cloth, or the universal paste for metals.
